Sai Baba's Teachings
The basis of Sathya Sai philosophy is self-improvement and the search for the nature of the soul. Your existence is obvious and does not require proof or belief. The fact that you "are" is something that all human beings experience, regardless of gender, age, nationality, social status, or religion.
Who thinks and speaks? Who acts? Who perceives? Who is happy and suffering? People are happy and suffering, while forgetting to understand who is experiencing various states, such as suffering and happiness. Who is "I"? Who asks the question and who wants the answer? Who wants to be free from problems and suffering and achieve happiness? Who is striving to know the truth and gain enlightenment? Sometimes people focus on their goals and plans, but forget to think about who the "I" is who wants to find and achieve their goals.
Sai Baba taught meditation to his devotees. He commented on the philosophical teachings and stories from the Vedic texts. His instructions were aimed at drawing people's attention to the main question of studying the nature of the soul, the realization of the unity of the soul and God.
Sathya Sai Baba and the steps on the spiritual path
Sai Baba is a spiritual teacher, miracle worker and philosopher who preached the teachings of the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, and helped us understand the teachings of Krishna, Christ and Buddha. There are many saints and spiritual teachers in India and every country who can teach hundreds, sometimes thousands of followers. Sai's spiritual power was immense and he had been able to help millions of disciples and followers, all of whom feel a personal, inner connection with him.
His help in the form of blessings changed people's situations, thoughts and character. He changed every aspect of people's inner world. Staying with him for a long time in one way or another, the devotees felt a spiritual state and gained divine insight. His blessings came in the form of healing, help in difficult life situations, finding happiness and family, building and developing projects.
You don't have to be a hermit to gain spiritual experience. One can follow a spiritual path while maintaining harmony and balance in meditation and family life. Sometimes people think of the spiritual path purely as a prayer practice. Everything that happens to you in life, your actions, are steps and steps on the path of spiritual growth. Good health, a good family and children, a successful career, and prosperity in business, science, and art are all factors in the development of your consciousness.
Sometimes people misclassify beings into spiritual and material. Sathya Sai Baba preached the unity of human existence and blessed all aspects of human life: spiritual self-improvement, intellectual knowledge, good health, strong family, financial abundance. This was his teaching.
"My life is my message"
Sathya Sai Baba said: "My life is my message." Significantly, he preached to his followers in private meetings and lectures. The most valuable thing was his life, which he showed by his own example. An important example for us is how Sai lived his life, what he showed, and what we can learn from looking at his biography. His birth in the small and poor village of Puttaparthi is a lesson and he sets us an important example.
Sai Baba completely transformed Puttaparthi at his birth, transforming it from a small impoverished village into a beautiful growing city. It's not so important how you start life, but rather who you gradually become as you grow up. Sai reincarnated under adversity.
With the power of his spirit and divine energy, he transformed the space in which he was born and raised. The village of Puttaparthi in the early 20th century, where Sai was incarnated, was very small, with only a few streets and a sparsely populated population. In his childhood, locals had to travel long distances to neighboring villages to get the simplest and most necessary things.
The nature around Puttaparthi village is beautiful, surrounded by mountains and rivers. Sai Kailash, the highest mountain in the region, is shaped like a natural trident and has three main peaks. Chitravathi River flows nearby. There are many lakes and ponds in this area.
Every visitor to Puttaparthi notices the uniqueness and beauty of this place. I knew an Indian Sai devotee who visited his ashram in the 1950s. They told me how the village of Puttaparthi looked in the distant past.
Getting to Puttaparthi from the nearest major city was difficult, the roads were very bad and narrow. Everything changed very quickly and little by little more and more tourists visited Sai Baba and Puttaparthi village turned into a beautiful town with good hotels and shops.
Over time, two large hospitals were established in Puttaparthi with modern equipment and highly qualified specialists, providing free care to patients. Sathya Sai Baba also established a large university in the village and built a huge stadium. His ashram regularly publishes numerous books on Vedic philosophy and self-development practices.
The Incarnation of Sathya Sai Baba: Transformation in Prosperity
Sathya Sai Baba is consciously born where he sees fit. Why did he choose to incarnate in Puttaparthi? On the face of it, this village is unsuitable for embodying a global spiritual mission.
Some say it would probably make more sense to reincarnate in a big city from a wealthy family. Sathya Sai did it differently. He was born in a small village, but with the power of his energy he gathered tens of millions of followers there. His father and mother were commoners. However, appearances can be deceiving.
The mother of Sathya Sai Baba was Easwaramma. According to her family tradition, she dreamed of the birth of a son and she vowed to perform the ancient Vedic ritual “Satya Narayana Vrata” every day. This is a ceremony to worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Except for her son Sai the woman performed a daily prayer ritual to implore the gods for the birth of her son.
Much later Sai said that he decided to incarnate in this family on earth because his mother practiced divine worship with sincere devotion. He saw and felt her feminine spiritual power and her devotion and decided to incarnate as her son.
They practice spiritual practices, meditations, mantras, prayers, but sometimes no one knows it. But what is hidden from the human eye is clear to the Lord. Sai Baba's amazing birth story is an example of God's omniscience.
He gave us a lesson with the history of reincarnation in Puttaparthi village. The area was poor at the time and difficult for visitors to access. An ordinary person born in such a village is virtually doomed to perpetual poverty. A person reincarnated in such a place could only hope to receive a primary education and engage in lifelong agriculture.
Sathya Sai Baba has become a magnet for millions of followers with the help of divine energy. In that village he built India's largest ashram, an excellent university, a large stadium, two modern hospitals, an international airport, and provided drinking water to many surrounding villages. Prosperity and development began where he was born.
108 names of Sai Baba
This is a famous and very powerful mantra, consisting of 108 lines, each describing a different aspect and attribute of Sathya Sai Baba, his spiritual mission and his unique life story. The mantra text is available on the internet and there are many recordings of this mantra performed by great contemporary musicians. This long, multi-page mantra has great energy power to heal illnesses and change destinies.
Sai Baba read
He published about a hundred volumes of 100 books in his lifetime, most of which were collections of lectures. Almost all of his philosophical and literary heritage has been translated and published in Russian. The main publisher of his books and other authors' books about him is Amrita Rus. There are many books dedicated to Sai Baba, so it is better to start learning his philosophy and spiritual messages from the most important ones. I recommend reading Summer Showers in Brindavan series and the following series: “Sathya Sai Speaks”.
Sai Baba Shirdi
Sai Baba consciously incarnates on Earth. We know of several past incarnations of his. His 19th century name was Shirdi Sai Baba (1838 – 1918) and he lived in the small town of Shirdi in western India. That's where his name comes from. He was a great miracle worker and preached Vedic philosophy and meditation. At the end of his life, he prophesied that in a few years he would reincarnate in South India. And so it happened and a few years later he was born in South India as Sathya Sai Baba (1926 – 2011).
Predictions of his death and next reincarnation
The new incarnation of Prema Sai Baba
Sathya Sai prophesied that he would leave his physical body at the age of 96, but he passed away at the age of 84. For some, this fact is a source of doubt and debate. In fact, there is no contradiction in this. Years before his departure, he used to say that his mission had been accomplished. Only Sathya Sai Baba Himself can decide when to leave this world and when to be reborn.
He also talked about his next birth. His name is Prema Sai Baba. He was born in 2012 in Doddamaalur village in South India. Sai told his close followers: Dr. Kasturi and Subba Rai that he would reincarnate in the southern Indian village of Doddamaalur next to an ancient Krishna temple in about a year. When Prema Sai Baba was two and a half years old, he was discovered by two holy women from the Himalayas, whose names were Tombadevi and Vijayadevi. This amazing event happened on April 12th, 2015.
These saints had many mystical dreams in which God showed them the place of his birth. Afterwards, the holy women sent five of their disciples in Karnataka, South India, in order to find the divine incarnation. So a group of five people came to South India to meet with a few more devotees and together they found the divine child. Prema means Divine Love and in the present incarnation he will lead all mankind into the path of spiritual practice.
